To all Macleod constituents at Christmas,

Christmas is a time to give thanks for the gifts of family and friends.  Around the world, we gather together to rejoice in our blessings and embrace the holiday spirit.  I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to everyone that has supported me over the years.  Your generosity knows no bounds, and inspires in me great pride for the people of Macleod and for all Canadians.

Despite the challenges of the past year, I am proud to report that our Conservative Government remains focussed on helping those Canadians most affected by the global economic recession.  Canada’s Economic Action Plan continues to provide the support that workers and their families need, making it a little easier to make ends meet this holiday season.

The hardships of the recession have proved no match for the blessings of family and friends. These incredible gifts remind us of the true meaning of Christmas, and of the importance of giving thanks for all that we have.

As we celebrate Christmas at home in Alberta, our thoughts are with the brave men and women of the Canadian Forces.  They serve with courage in the face of danger, in the hope of sharing the gift of freedom that we enjoy as Canadians every day.  We wish them peace and joy this holiday season, and pray for their safe return.

I look forward to representing my constituents in Macleod in Ottawa in 2012, as we continue to build a stronger, better Canada.  On behalf of myself and Sandy, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a healthy and prosperous new year.
