April 12, 2006
OTTAWA – Ted Menzies, Member of Parliament for Macleod and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Cooperation, today hosted students from Highwood High School visiting Ottawa from High River, Alberta.
The group of 12 members of Highwood High School’s senior and junior teams are visiting Ottawa to participate in a series of events throughout the city, including drama workshops and performing as buskers in the Ottawa Byward Market. Menzies also arranged for these talented performers to receive a special tour of the Prime Minister’s Office on Parliament Hill. Afterwards, the students showed off their talents during a private performance for Menzies. “These students worked very hard to raise money to travel to Ottawa and what better way to reward their hard work than the opportunity to visit the Prime Minister’s office” said Menzies. Menzies continued, “They are extremely talented and their improve skills kept me laughing for an hour. I look forward to seeing them perform again.” |
