To All My Friends in the Riding of Macleod at Christmas

Christmas is the one time of year that home is where you want to be, surrounded by the blessings of family and friends. People from all around the world will be gathering together to embrace the holiday spirit and enjoy all the pleasure that winter provides.

As your Member of Parliament I have been granted the privilege to work for you and represent your voices in Ottawa and abroad. I am proud to report back to you in this holiday season that Canada, and particularly Alberta, continues to enjoy the respect and envy of the world.

This past year our family was blessed with another new addition, this time a grandson! The gift of a new family member reminds both Sandy and myself of the true meaning of giving at Christmas. It is not about the amount of money spent or even the number of gifts you may receive. Christmas is about the love in your heart and the closeness of family and friends to share it with.

As we celebrate together all the gifts this country has to offer, my thoughts and prayers are with the brave and courageous men and women of our Canadian Forces. They have served us proudly in the harshest of conditions in the hopes of sharing with others the gifts of hope and freedom that we Canadians enjoy each and every day. May they find peace and joy in this holiday season and be returned to us soon, safe and unharmed.

I am proud and extremely grateful for the continued opportunity to serve the fine people of Macleod. On behalf of Sandy and myself I wish all the citizens of Macleod a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with good health and continued prosperity.

Ted Menzies, M.P.
