Ted, it was great to see you at the Don Mazankowski evening --- a wonderful event in honour of a great Canadian. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the evening.
As I watched Maz and listened to the tributes made about him, I had to think about Ted Menzies. Many people pointed out the respect that Maz had from all parties and all Members of Parliament. They liked him and they respected him because of the approach he took to the business of advancing public service.
While I only see you operate outside the House, I get the impression that Ted Menzies has many of the same characteristics as don Mazankowski --- and you also have a wonderful smile that is powerful and complements your approach.
Keep up the great work. It is an honour to have you as my MP.

Just a quick note to say thanks for your efforts to help (the) Hamlet get the grant money to start building our water treatment plant. I've been playing sidewalk superintendent at the river side as a local contractor and his crew have been putting their shovels (great big backhoes) in the ground to lay the systems water intake gallery and water mains. It is great to see after 40 or 50 years of trying.
Great work on your part. With any luck I will be shaking your hand at a water plant opening next summer.
In closing thanks as well for the money you gave our Trails Association for the trail up to the Banded Peak School. Keeping people and especially kids off the highway is an excellent thing to do.
I keep reading great things about your work in Ottawa on our behalf. Thanks and keep up the great work.

I received your mailer requesting feed back to the income tax I'm required to pay for the 2007 tax year. I've just completed them and have the same income and the same deductions I had last year. I'm aware that the basic personal deductions have increased and that the rates have changed slightly. The biggest change is the splitting of pension income. As a result of the changes introduced by this government, I paid $4,560 LESS this year than last year.
For that you have a great big Thank You from us and also our support for the government's fiscal policies.
We also support many other government policies but this is the one you asked about.
