MENZIES EXPRESSES DISAPPONTMENT OVER CWB RULING
August 01, 2007
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – Ted Menzies, Member of Parliament for Macleod, is deeply disappointed with the Federal Court decision to rule against the regulatory changes to the Canadian Wheat Board introduced by the Federal Government. “I am disappointed with the decision of the Federal Court,” said Menzies. “I know many farmers across Alberta, and the rest of the producers monopolized by the Canadian Wheat Board have been asking for and expecting market freedom, but this decision has disrupted their plans for this crop season and future seasons.” “I am confident in the leadership Minister Strahl has provided in achieving marketing choice for farmers, and I am confident that the Minister will carefully review the Court’s decision to determine the next steps our government will take to bring marketing choice to farmers,” concluded Menzies. Menzies is in Charlottetown, PEI, attending National Conservative Caucus Summer Retreat, which will conclude on Friday. |
